What is OctopusOdds?

A tool for sports bettors who already know what they want to bet and want to stop losing money on the price. The Bet builder puts every sportsbook and prediction-market price for the same bet on one screen and flags the best one, lets you build straight bets and parlays, and lets you build a parlay together with friends in groups.

We’re not a tipster feed. Most bettors don’t lose to bad picks — they lose to bad prices, and that’s a problem you can fix today without getting any better at picking.

Is OctopusOdds live yet?

The member app is open as a free early-access preview. You can create an account today and use the Bet builder (the odds board, game pages with alternate lines and player props, and a straight or parlay slip that shows every book’s price) and Community (friends, groups and group parlays). Sports with real games collected show real matchups; the rest show clearly labelled demonstration games, and every example on this website is demonstration data.

Still on the way: a personal bet Tracker (sportsbook sync, bet logging, closing-line value), price-move alerts, and billing. No payments are being taken yet, and we haven’t chosen or validated any betting strategy, so OctopusOdds publishes no picks.

Do you place bets for me?

No, and we never will. OctopusOdds is research only. You place any bet yourself, at your own sportsbook, with your own money. No wagering happens on this site and we never touch your betting account.

Do you guarantee I’ll make money?

No. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something. Betting markets are competitive and any edge is small, uncertain, and can disappear. Past results — ours or anyone’s — don’t predict future ones.

What we can commit to is explaining how every number on screen is calculated.

What does “demonstration data” mean?

Every price, chart and example on this website is invented sample data, there to show how the product works. It is never presented as evidence that anything is profitable. Inside the app, games with real collected prices are shown as such and the rest are labelled demonstration.

What does the percentage under each price mean?

It’s the chance that price implies, before the book’s margin (1 divided by the decimal odds). A price of −110 implies about 52.4%. It’s a way to read a price, not a prediction that the bet will win.

What is closing-line value, and why does it matter?

It compares the price you got to the final price just before the event starts. Consistently beating the closing line is one of the few honest signs that a bettor is finding real value rather than getting lucky. Tracking your own CLV is part of the Tracker we’re building; it isn’t in the app yet.

Which sports and sportsbooks do you cover?

Seven sports are set up: NFL, college football, college basketball, MLB, NBA, NHL and UFC (UFC is moneyline only). Eight venues are compared: DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, the no-fee Novig exchange, and the prediction markets Kalshi and Polymarket. Real prices currently flow for some sports and venues; the rest show labelled demonstration prices.

Prediction markets sit next to the sportsbooks because their prices can be better, and because a contract trades in cents the price is a probability with no bookmaker margin buried inside it. Availability varies by state, so not every member will be able to trade on them.

What will membership cost?

The figures in the plan table on the homepage are placeholders while we finish the product — they’re there to show the layout, not to quote you a price. Billing isn’t switched on, so everything is free during the preview. Final pricing gets set before anyone is charged.

Will I be able to cancel?

Yes. When billing opens it will be a normal monthly or annual subscription you can cancel yourself from your account page, without emailing anyone to ask permission.

Is this available where I live?

Sports betting laws differ by state and country, and it’s on you to know the rules where you are. OctopusOdds is research and analysis, not a sportsbook, but we’ll confirm where memberships are offered before charging anyone.

Do you have an app?

The app is a web app: open app.octopusodds.com on your phone, then use your browser’s Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen for a one-tap shortcut. A native iOS and Android app may follow once the web app is finished.

Isn’t the best price just the highest odds?

Not always. −3.5 at −105 and −3 at −115 aren’t the same bet, because the line is different, so you can’t rank them on price alone. In the Bet builder, each price box compares the same line across venues and flags the best price for it. When lines differ, look at the line first: crossing a key number like 3 or 7 usually matters far more than a few cents of price.

Do you take commission from the sportsbooks?

No. No affiliate links, no referral fees, no tracked links anywhere on the site or in the app.

That’s a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. The moment we’re paid per signup, we have a reason to send you somewhere other than the best price — and the best price is the entire product. Your membership is the only thing that will pay us.

Do I need accounts at every sportsbook?

No. Every venue’s price for the bet is shown side by side, so you can use the books you already have and see how your own book compares with the best number.
